Commencement Ceremony
Commencement Ceremonies are not a ticketed event for guests. However, Graduates will need to bring their printed Stage Pass (Graduate Ticket). The Stage Pass will be found on the personalized RSVP link sent to graduates, in mid-March 2026. Graduates please check your emails in March for your RSVP and Stage Pass request. The deadline to register is April 15, 2026.
The Commencement Ceremonies will be streamed live on NMSU YouTube.
Ticketing is not required. However, we are always looking for NMSU staff and faculty volunteers. Faculty advisors will have a reserved faculty seating area. Please reach out to the Commencement Office to RSVP to attend as a faculty attendee or if wanting to volunteer with a role.
Graduates should submit their Name Pronunciation before April 15, 2026 to ensure their name is properly announced at the ceremonies.
Diplomas/Degree Awarding
If a student is completing requirements for their degree they do need to fill out the application for degree before the deadline date, in order to have the degree awarded on the transcript and for the diploma to be issued.
Please ensure all holds are released from the student account. Diplomas are mailed to graduates 6-8 weeks after final grades are submitted. Diplomas will be sent to the address specified on the application for degree. Graduates can view their diploma status online.
Attendance at Commencement Ceremonies is optional. We do not distribute diplomas at the ceremonies. If graduates meet requirements for their degree, diplomas will be mailed within 6-8 weeks after final grades are due.
