Spring Graduation Checklist

 

Degree Check

Do a final degree check by running a STAR Degree Audit and consulting with your academic advisor before registering for your final semester.

Degree Application

To submit a Degree Application form:

  1. Sign in to your myNMSU account
  2. Click the Student tab, then Student Records, then Application for Degree (Diploma)

Cost

  • $25 for undergraduate (associates and bachelors) degrees
  • $35 for graduate (masters and doctoral) degrees

Spring 2014

Application period opens

November 7, 2013

Application deadline

January 24, 2014

Last Day to apply without a $25 late fee

March 3, 2014

 Summer 2014*

Application period opens April 10, 2014
Application deadline July 7, 2014

*There is not a Commencement ceremony in the Summer semester. Undergraduate students completing requirements for degree in the Summer semester may participate in the Spring 2014 Commencement ceremony with an Early Petition form found at the College Advising center. Early Petition forms will be accepted starting on February 14, 2014 and ending on March 3, 2014.

Fall 2014

Application period opens

April 10, 2014

Application deadline

October 1, 2014

Last Day to apply without a $25 late fee

August 29, 2014

Seat Reservation

If you plan to walk in the Commencement Ceremony, you must reserve your seat. 

Submit your information to the Seat Reservation System beginning November 7, 2013.

Deadline to reserve your seat for Spring 2014 is May 6, 2014.

Regalia

If you plan to walk in the Commencement Ceremony, you must purchase your regalia (cap, gown, and tassel) from the NMSU Bookstore, 575-646-4431. Click here for additional information regarding regalia.

Special orders must be made no later than Monday,  March 8th, 2014.

Graduation Fair

Regalia may also be purchased at the Graduation Fair, March 13th and 14th, or anytime March 4th, 2014 until May 9th, 2014.

Diplomas

  • Diplomas will be mailed to graduates approximately eight weeks after final grades have been processed by the Registrar’s office.
